Research

Dr Kandasamy’s research interests are infectious diseases in children and the use of vaccines to prevent them. He completed a Doctorate of Philosophy at the University of Oxford with the Oxford Vaccine Group and a post-doctorate at Imperial College London. He also worked for the World Health Organization, where he has applied his knowledge and skills to determining the effects of modifying the timing, number, and order of childhood immunisations.

The caliber of his work has been recognised through the publication in highly respectable medical journals. He has also received a number of awards and invitations to present his work at international conferences, the most notable being the award of the Robert Austrian Prize in 2016 for research on pneumococcal disease.
